What This Package Includes:

Online Family Tree on Ancestry

• A family tree created directly on Ancestry

• Built using documented UK records

• Each fact supported with sources

• Shared with you so you have full access and control

NB: An Ancestry account is required to view the tree. A free Ancestry account is sufficient to access a shared tree.

Tree Privacy Options (Your Choice)

You choose how visible your tree is on Ancestry:

• Private– visible only to you and people you invite

• Private but searchable– limited details visible to other users

• Public– visible to other Ancestry users

Your preferred setting will be confirmed before delivery and can be changed by you at any time.

Two Generations of Research

Research is carried out two generations back from the starting person, typically covering:

• Parents

• Grandparents

Research is limited to one family line(maternal or paternal).

UK Records Used

Where available and appropriate:

• Birth, marriage, and death indexes

• Census records (1841–1921)

• The 1939 Register (where relevant)

• Basic residence and occupation details

Full certificates are not included, but may be recommended where confirmation is required.

Summary of Findings

You will receive a short written summary(PDF or email) explaining:

• What was discovered

• Any uncertainties or gaps

• Suggested next steps

(This package does not include a full written research report.)

What This Package Does Not Include

To keep the research focused and manageable, this package does not include:

• Research beyond two generations

• Multiple family lines

• DNA analysis

• Overseas research

• Extensive parish register research

• Complex or long-standing brick-wall problems

Certificates & Additional Costs

Birth, marriage, and death certificates are ordered from the General Register Office (GRO).

• Cost is approximately £12.50 per certificate, plus postage

• This is the official GRO fee— no markup is added

• Certificate costs are not included in the package price

• Certificates are ordered only with your approval

Timescale

Your Ancestry family tree is normally completed within 2–4 weeks from receipt of:

• A completed intake form

• Payment

Privacy, Confidentiality & Social Media Use

All client information is treated as strictly confidential.

From time to time, research findings may be shared on social media, a website, or other professional platforms for educational or illustrative purposes. In such cases:

• The client is anonymised and never identified

• No information about living individuals is shared

• Only individuals born at least 100 years ago may be named

• The client’s relationship to historical individuals is not disclosed

• Examples are shared to demonstrate research methods and historical context, not to identify families
